How to set password in your phpmyadmin for secure database access?

Step: 1

Go to phpmyadmin panel http://localhost/phpmyadmin

Step: 2

Click on the User Accounts link from top navigation menu

Step: 3

Click on the Edit Privileges link from User Overview Accounts section

Step: 4

Click on the Change Password Link from top sub menu

Step: 5

Generate password and copy the password and click on the Go button to save password

Step: 6

Go to locate phpMyAdmin installation path.

Step: 7

Open phpMyAdmin>config.inc.php in your favourite text editor.

Step: 8

Search for $cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘auth_type’] = ‘config’;

Replace it with $cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘auth_type’] = ‘cookie’;

That’s it

Now you have to login to access your phpmyadmin

Note: Password must be used in your database connection to access database from your from your project
